The Sea Ranch: Architecture, Environment, and Idealism

Okay.  Hear me out.  

Don't buy this book. 

This guide to the SFMOMA Exhibition in 2018, which I do happen to own a copy of, is my favorite book about The Sea Ranch, which is an incredible planned community built in the 60's in Sonoma County, California.  It's absolutely wonderful, with incredible behind-the-scenes images and documents and wonderful photos of the buildings as they were pre-2018.  

The homes and buildings at The Sea Ranch give you a totally different way to think about what Mid-Century Modern means when it comes to exterior design.  It doesn't all have to be quirky colors and funky shapes. 

So maybe don't buy this book outright, because the price has gone bonkers now that it's out of print. But if I saw it in a shop for a decent sub-100 price, I wouldn't hesitate.
